Zelestra's Female Leadership Programme

We hear insights from three inspiring female leaders at Zelestra, Meenakshi Sarkar, Manasa Ganoothula, and Isabel Bertol, as they share their experiences working in renewable energy, why they chose Zelestra, and how they’re continuing to grow their careers.
At Zelestra, we believe in helping all our team members to be empowered to leave their mark on the world. This is our promise, so it is vital that we have the actions that back our words.
According to the International Energy Agency, women remain underrepresented in management roles in the energy sector, holding approximately 15% of senior management positions. At Zelestra, we are above average, with 34% of “director level and above” positions held by women, and we are focused on the development of all our female talent.
One of Zelestra’s key initiatives is our Female Leadership Programme, now in its second year. It has a very simple aim. We have designed this programme to help inspire female talent from across a wide range of backgrounds and geographies to realize their full potential and to become strong role models for new women entering the company.
Our senior management are some of the biggest supporters of the initiative, personally assisting the journey of our female leaders. They are present in sessions, they speak openly and honestly about their professional and personal lives, they give their time with enthusiasm, and they are focused on making the programme a success.
But it is essential to have support that extends far wider in our company. We also engage line managers and other team members across our business units to get involved, to understand, to support and to promote the programme. The more people that feel engaged and understand the objectives, the more we can promote a truly inclusive culture.
The programme extends beyond a full year and offers access to mentors on an ongoing basis once formal training is completed. The programme also engages external experts to offer training sessions and workshops, with networking events and feedback and encouragement opportunities.
In the video below, we talk to three inspiring female leaders at Zelestra, Meenakshi Sarkar, Manasa Ganoothula, and Isabel Bertol, as they share their experiences working in renewable energy, why they chose Zelestra, and how they’re continuing to grow their careers.
Their stories highlight the power of representation, ambition, and purpose — and the impact each of them is making in advancing clean energy.
Thank you for sharing your perspectives and for leaving your mark on the world!
